Michael J. Smith

With over 18 years of real estate experience, Michael Smith leads The Agency North Shore, New York office as managing partner, offering a wealth of business knowledge and nuanced area expertise. Previously serving as President and CEO of The SafeGuard Group and its solely owned subsidiaries, SafeGuard Homes and SafeGuard Realty, he has actively managed over 400 residential home transactions since 2017. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. John’s University and has worked as a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange as a Commodities Trader.

Michael is deeply involved in his community and over the past 21 years has served on the board of the Carleigh Mac Foundation, an organization established to benefit pediatric cardiology. Having raised more than $2,500,000, 100% of the fundraising support is donated to purchase pediatric medical equipment and establishing an imaging center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center dedicated in Carleigh’s name. Michael is also a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting underserved children with educational scholarships, and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, providing counseling.
