Michael Lewis

W. Michael Lewis, CCIM, SIOR, is President of Raleigh, NC-based The Lewis Group CORFAC International. Mike formed The Lewis Group in 2000 to provide office and industrial property owners, occupiers and investors with institutional-quality services in an entrepreneurial environment that favors agility, principal involvement and local decision making.

Lewis started his career in 1984 with Cushman & Wakefield, Raleigh-Durham, NC and later was a principal and one of the two founding brokers for what is now the Cassidy Turley (DTZ) office in The Triangle. In addition to landlord representation and tenant representation, Lewis provides transaction management services and development advisory services. He has been involved in numerous local and regional development projects, which include a 60,000-square-foot Class A office building and several low-rise industrial/flex projects in the Raleigh area.

During his career, Lewis has participated in over 8 million square feet of office lease and sale transactions, more than 300 million square feet of industrial property deals and purchased or sold over 5,000 acres of land for clients. Some of his clients have included Thermo Fisher, Fed Ex, General Electric, Georgia-Pacific, Panattoni Development, Philips, U.S. Postal Service, SYSCO, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Verizon, and others.

The Lewis Group is the exclusive CORFAC International affiliate in North Carolina and Mike has been a member of the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1993 and 1994, respectfully. He has been recognized for more than a dozen career accomplishments and awards, such as Largest Office Transaction (1998, by Carolinas Chapter SIOR), Largest Industrial Transaction (1999, REDY Awards/Deals of the Year), Largest Chapter Referral (2003, Carolinas Chapter SIOR) and TCAR Million Dollar Club in 2011, among others.

Lewis possesses a North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License and since 1984 has maintained affiliations with the National Association of Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors and the Raleigh Board of Realtors/TCAR. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
