About Michael

Schowalter Real Estate Company was founded in 1990 by Michael Schowalter, a Port Washington native who knows the area as well as the residents.

Schowalter Real Estate's first location was in Port Washington where the Company specialized in the Sales & Appraisals of Lake Front / Residential and Commercial Properties. As times changed and the real estate appraisal industry became a Wisconsin Certified and Licensed Profession in 1990. Mike worked through the ranks of appraiser credentials and by 1996 had achieved the Top Status of Wisconsin Certified General Appraiser.

After seven successful years in Port Washington, the company had outgrown its location. In 1997, the company found an old vacant diner on what appeared to be an almost deserted corner in Saukville. Schowalter and a Partner purchased the building and renovated it to provide ample space for the new Schowalter Real Estate Office.

The location was perfect due in large part to its high traffic count, landmark recognition, and great visibility. In addition, we were able to save a great piece of history.
