Prior to his real estate career, Mikhail served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman and Light Armored Vehicle Crewman, enlisting at the age of 17. He was meritoriously promoted twice and deployed to Iraq in 2005 and 2007 during the early years of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
