About Nan
Nan Weiss, a native of St. Louis, was educated at the University of Dayton in Ohio, where she concentrated in Communication Arts. After a summer on Cape Cod, Nan developed a love for the coast which has motivated her and her family to live near the water ever since those post-graduate days. After ten years in Cataumet on Buzzards Bay in Cape Cod, Nan and her husband moved to Wilmington where they have lived, worked, and raised their two daughters since 1990.
Matching up Needs to Resources…
Skillful at matching client needs to resources, Nan honed her communication skills while working as Senior Development Officer for the prestigious Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the largest independent research laboratory devoted to the study of all aspects of the ocean environment. To match funding needs of WHOI scientists with interests of potential donors, she worked creatively to develop associations for the mutual benefit of both parties. Today, Nan uses these same skills to assist buyers and sellers, matching up their needs with appropriate resources for a successful transaction.
More about Nan…
Two active daughters with diverse interests have led Nan to many volunteer positions and board positions at their schools (New Horizons Elementary and Cape Fear Academy) and in other community organizations (Friends of UNCW and Girls’ Choir of Wilmington). In addition, Nan has worked with New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation and Lower Cape Fear Hospice where she chaired the Festival of Trees, a major community event which raises funds for hospice care. Nan learned perseverance and endurance while running marathons in St. Louis, New York, and Boston, and she brings the same focus to her real estate career.
