Attracted to real estate and development after an initial career in the environmental non-profit sector in South Asia, Neal learned the ropes of the industry at the helm of a high growth “conventional” real estate company in the Pacific Northwest. During this time, he helped to grow the company by triple digits year-over-year for six years and worked on a range of projects from single family homes to $300m mixed-use commercial projects.
Seeking purpose and a more values-aligned approach to work and life, Neal is seen as a pioneer applying regenerative principles to the real estate industry. He works with clients on projects that help change the needle of culture and showcase how real estate can be a catalyst for healing, justice, health, and resilience.
Neal is the host of The Regenerative Real Estate Podcast and a frequent guest on shows pertaining to conscious business and leadership, ecology and permaculture, high performance building, and real estate sales, investing, and development. His work has been featured in places such as Dwell Magazine and The Bigger Pockets Podcast.
He is Living Future Accredited with the International Living Future Institute, holds a B.S. in Agriculture Economics with a concentration in finance, a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, a Master’s Certificate in Real Estate Development, and was a Rural Business Advisor with the Peace Corps in the country of Moldova.
He is a dad to a Waldorf kid, trail runner, reader, gardener, and amateur carpenter. Originally from Louisiana, he and his family are now creating a permaculture-based family compound at their home on Whidbey Island.
