About Owen

Owen Thomas grew up in Ames, IA and Cary, NC. In 2006, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke to pursue his undergraduate degree in business administration. He was a member of the UNCP football team for five years. He completed his master of Business Administration degree in May 2013 after working on it for a year and a half.

Apart from being an agent, he works as a senior account executive at Dial Insurance Agency, providing services to clients in North and South Carolina. He is currently serving his first term on the Lumberton City Council and is on the NC League of Municipalities Board of Directors. He also serves on several boards appointed by the legislature.

In 2015, he was named Kiwanian of the year, and in 2018, he was named young insurance agent of the year. He also won the United Way Dancing with the Stars in the same year. He was recognized as one of the Fayetteville Observer 40 under 40 in 2020.

During his free time, he enjoys serving his community through Kiwanis, supporting the youth and the local chambers of commerce, and giving back to his alma mater. He also enjoys running and working out, listening to live music, cooking, and participating in various sports and recreational activities.
