Paul Hornsby & Company is owned and operated by Paul Hornsby, MAI, SRA, CRE. Mr. Hornsby has been active in the Austin appraisal business since 1980. He is actively involved in each assignment, from property inspection to review of the report. Furthermore he serves as the firm’s primary expert witness, in addition to public speaking and authoring research papers. Lecture topics have included real estate valuation at The University of Texas; the impact of hazardous materials on property value for the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts; regulatory takings on behalf of the International Right of Way Association; the Endangered Species Act and its impact on property value for the Texas Savings and Loan League; fee simple value theory in ad valorem tax appraising for both the Downtown Austin Alliance and the Institute of Real Estate Management; and, material and substantial impairment of access for CLE International.
Mr. Hornsby is one of 15 AQB certified USPAP instructors in the State of Texas. Adherence to USPAP and to the standards of the Appraisal Institute are a primary focus of the firm.
