Paul Valva is the grandson of the founder of the company, Michele Valva, and the son of Bill Valva, who headed the company for some 50 years with his brother Bob.
Paul has been helping clients buy and sell real estate in the greater Oakland area since 1986. He specializes in both commercial and industrial properties and has built a well-deserved reputation with his clients as dedicated, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Respected by his peers as well as his clients, Paul was named Realtor of the Year by the Oakland Association of Realtors in 2002.
A graduate of Oakland’s Bishop O’Dowd High School, Paul went on to earn an economics degree with Distinction from UC Berkeley, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s in Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. Before entering the family firm, Paul worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington D.C., Consolidated Capital Companies in Emeryville, and lived one year in Milan, Italy.
Paul is passionate about sustainability and the environment. He served four years as manager in Northern California for The Climate Reality Project, educating the public about the dangers of and solutions to climate change. Paul is working to parlay his diverse interests in business and the environment into more sustainable real estate development.
Paul lives and works in Oakland, and has a broad network of personal connections and business colleagues around the world. He is currently a principle at the Valva Realty Company and President of Western Management Properties.
