Founded by Penny Yerks, the Yerks Team today is led by Piper Yerks, who joined her mother over 20 years ago. Prior to joining the Yerks Team, Piper served as Senior Vice President of Federal Sources, Inc., leading a team of 60 focused on sales and services in the government information technology marketplace.

Continually fueled by the family passion, Piper has expanded the family business, solidifying the Yerks Team's position as an unrivaled force in the industry. Piper Yerks is the leading agent by number of transactions $2.5 million and above with an impressive list of notable clients. In 2022 Piper Yerks involved in 40% of the top Virginia transactions as reported in the Washington Business Journal and two of the 11 most expensive sales in 2022 as reported by Washington magazine.

Piper Yerks is not only the driving force behind the Yerks Team, but she is also a proud parent and an active supporter of Potomac School for the past 18 years. Piper distinguished herself as a member of the James Madison University Dukes Alumni and continues her support of JMU, from where she graduated with honors, through the Amethyst Circle which benefits women's scholarship programs and philanthropy, laying the foundation for Piper's dedication to giving back. Piper also has served on the board of INOVA Hospital, McLean Project for the Arts and the gala committees for Wolftrap Foundation for the Performing Arts, Choral Arts Society and St. Jude hospital. Piper comes from a long grey line of West Point graduates but has lived in Great Falls and McLean most of her life when the family settled here after her father’s service.
