Rachel Brown

Rachel has called Western North Carolina home for over 24 years with her husband and two children. Her love of the mountains, the Asheville community, and all things housing drew her to pursue real estate in the spring of 2017. After receiving her certificate in residential real estate appraisal in 2004, then following the financial collapse of 2009, pursuing a different career path which allowed her to hone her negotiating skills, she was brought back to a focus on real estate due to the explosion of growth happening in her community. Rachel wanted to be a part of the discussion, and a helpful force in seeking solutions to the affordable housing movement that is underway in Western North Carolina and many other parts of the country. Rachel is actively engaged as former Chairperson of the Affordable Housing Committee at the Land of the Sky Association of REALTORS® and seeks every opportunity to interact & collaborate with City and County officials in order to bring awareness to the Affordable Housing Crisis, as well as, working towards developing creative solutions to preserve Asheville’s unique sense of community and diversity. Outside of real estate, Rachel enjoys hiking & paddling in the surrounding mountains and getting out into the garden where she primarily grows vegetables, along with a few fruit trees. Rachel works with both buyers and sellers in Buncombe and the surrounding counties. She feels that she has found her passion helping people find the places that they make into their homes, or in some instances, selling those homes to transition into another phase of their lives. It is a privilege to be allowed to help guide and advise families in these moments and she is grateful for all the clients, many of whom become friends, that have allowed her to assist them in these significant moments of life.
