Reta Durham

Reta Durham has lived in South Texas all of her life and was raised on the Norias Division of the King Ranch where she learned the love of land and animals. She was a 1979 top ten graduate of Raymondville High School and continued her education at Texas A&I University in Kingsville and received her degree with a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Homemaking becoming a certified Texas Teacher working in 2 Texas school districts during her teaching career. At San Perlita ISD in Willacy County she taught for 9 years. Her 8th through 12th graders learned how to become productive citizens of society and how to take care of their family, homes and communities. She then taught for 21 years at Edcouch-Elsa ISD in Hidalgo County where she taught Family and Consumer Science courses, was the head of her department and helped many students how to again become those productive citizens of our society.

She started working in Real Estate in 2014 as a secretary, bookkeeper, office manager and Realtor under Wells Real Estate from September of 2014 until October of 2024 when her broker, James Wells, retired and closed his business, Wells Real Estate, of 47 years. She has been working with South Padre Coastal Real Estate since then.
