Richard Asch, a real estate sales associate for over 30 years, has joined the RE/MAX Destiny office in Jamaica Plain.
Richard was recently affiliated with Keller Williams Realty Boston-Metro. At one time he was a partner and one of the founders of the Keller Williams River North office in Chicago, the city in which he started his professional career as a Realtor©. As a Realtor© in Chicago, Richard garnered several industry awards, including being named number one at producing the most sales transactions in a year.
In Chicago, he was also affiliated with RE/MAX Exclusive Properties and GMAC Koenig & Strey, and in Boston he was affiliated with Prudential Prime Properties before the Keller Williams Boston Metro office opened up.
In addition to selling real estate, he has renovated a several classic properties, upgrading all the mechanics and restoring all the vintage amenities. He has converted 16 units into condominiums. He utilizes this skill and experience when he works with buyers. With buyers he is able to analyze the degree and quality of renovation or construction in relationship to the price, amenities and location of the property for sale.
Prior to his real estate profession, he was a film producer. He owned his own film production company in Chicago where he produced television commercials and industrial films. He also served as Associate Producer of the feature film “Stony Island,” the first motion picture directed by Andy Davis, who subsequently directed “The Fugitive.”
He brings this sensibility for production, organization and visualization to his work with buyers of real estate.
Richard has participated actively and aggressively in the non-profit sector. He served on the Board of Directors of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago for 10 years and prior to that he founded and served as executive director of STOP AIDS CHICAGO, an HIV-AIDS education and prevention out-reach program.
Richard brings the same passion and energy I exuded in my volunteer activities to my career as a Realtor©.
Richard is married to Roger Sutton, the editor –in-chief of The Horn Book, the oldest periodical in the United States that reviews children’s literature. He and Roger have lived in Jamaica Plain for almost twenty years. Richard has two sons, Ethan and Dorian, from a previous marriage to Susan Munich. And he has two grandchildren, Miles and Chloe who live in Corte Madera, California.
