About Richard

Rick was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona at a very young age. He stayed in Scottsdale for his entire childhood and graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1980. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Real Estate at the University of Arizona in 1984 and immediately began a career as a commercial real estate appraiser. He has practiced commercial appraisal in Arizona, California and Nevada over the past 35 years and currently owns his own firm, Biers & Associates, LLC. His practice specializes in forensic commercial analysis and he has qualified to testify as an expert witness in almost every
county in Arizona, as well as Federal Bankruptcy Court and in Clark County, Nevada.

Rick has four adult children: Carole, Richard, Bethany and Carly. In 2005, Rick met and later married Roberta Voss, who has been with RE/MAX Professionals for 18 years. In the spring of 2019 Rick earned his real estate license. He is excited to bring his commercial market knowledge to The Voss Team, while learning more about the residential sector.

When he is not analyzing real estate trends, Rick can be found on the golf course, in his garden, or out competing in a DockDogs event. He and Roberta have several Labrador Retrievers and both Rick and Roberta are accomplished handlers. They compete in all three disciplines of DockDogs and have attended the World Championships for the past seven years. In 2016, Rick won a World Championship in DockDogs and has earned several awards for achieving the top worldwide ranking in various classes of competition.
