We understand why Richard is an award-winning realtor! He was steadfast and patient in working with us for over a year while we held out for just the right property. When we found that perfect place, Richard used his knowledge of the market to make sure our bid was the "winner". He stayed in constant contact and advised us at every step from making the offer to closing. He anticipated potential roadblocks and helped us plan ahead for them. Richard handled a few sticky situations b/t parties with expert knowledge, high ethical standards, AND interpersonal finesse. We trusted Richard completely and he exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a true professional realtor in the OBX, Richard Tolson is your person. We started with Richard 14 years ago when my wife and I were looking for a vacation home for my family. He found us the perfect place. Now that the family has grown, we needed a larger place. Richard worked his magic and again, found the perfect place for us. Richard is the utmost professional. Richard was absolutely amazing! We planned on putting our house on the market March 1, 2024. We had a small issue that the contractor made into a HUGE problem, didn't get on the market until November because of everything. Richard was there for us EVERY step of the way with suggestions and guidance. He even regularly checked on the house for us because we moved two states away. He was phenomenal.

I got lucky to be paired with Richard with our first purchase through him at Pirates cove in Manteo. Do you remember the song by Tina Turner, "Simply the Best"? Well, that pretty much describes Richard with his personable, professional style as a realtor. He has helped Deloris and I with other transactions outside of OBX well, and those were also good experiences. It's like whatever he touches is gold. Don't waste time looking for anyone else, he is the number one draft pick!

Richard Tolson was referred to us by one of our friends from Pittsburgh. Our first interaction with Richard was quite impressive, as Richard scheduled a meeting to discuss the type of property that we are searching for, and to provide us with extremely important details about the market, his background, and his experience.
Thereafter, our interaction continue to improve and improve. We were delighted to meet him in person, at which time we found him to be engaging, thorough, knowledgeable and a wealth of information to educate us on important factors of buying a beachfront home. For every house that we expressed an interest in, Richard would methodically go through the pros and cons of each, along with ideas on how to work through any potential shortcomings.
