Bob has been in the real estate business in Arlington since 1969, and at the helm of Bowes Real Estate since 1974. Founded on the principles of ethics, integrity and customer satisfaction, Bowes has been providing comprehensive real estate services to customers and clients in Arlington and surrounding communities for nearly 50 years. Bob’s father began working for an Arlington real estate company in 1966 and encouraged Bob to join that firm in 1969. When that company failed in 1974, Bob and his father purchased it from the owner. They grew and prospered, and in 1984, purchased a competing real estate company, the oldest in the area, established in 1945. The two companies were combined into Bowes, and in 1994 moved into what is now the Arlington office at 1010 Massachusetts Avenue. The goal was to build a company that placed the needs of the consumer first, consistently delivering an exceptional customer service experience and establishing a reputation for honesty, integrity, and fair dealings. In July 2020, Bob decided that the best way to grow the company was to welcome a new owner who shared his core values. Bob hand-selected Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty as the perfect suitor.
