About ROBERT
Robert Foster is President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Greater Los Angeles, which extends from Long Beach in the south to Santa Barbara in the north. He supervises the day-to-day operations of 26 offices and over 2,100 sales associates. Before becoming President, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Southwest region, where he was instrumental in leading the corporate operations.
Foster has been involved in residential real estate for more than 40 years. Soon after beginning his career, he was recognized as a top-producing sales associate, and after only three years in sales, he was promoted to Branch Manager. In 1983, Foster became General Manager and Vice President of a San Francisco-based regional real estate company and was named Manager of the Year. In 1985, the San Francisco brokerage was acquired by Merrill Lynch Realty, and Foster earned the company’s prestigious Society of Excellence award, which was presented to the top 10 managers in the nation. In 1986, he was appointed Vice President and Marketing Director for Merrill Lynch Realty, Western U.S. region, and in 1988, he was promoted to President of the Los Angeles-Orange County region for Merrill Lynch Realty.
In 1991, Foster became a founding partner of RML Realty, “dba” the Prudential California Realty, which purchased and operated 74 residential real estate offices in California that were formerly owned and operated by Merrill Lynch Realty.
In 1992, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Administration and was appointed Corporate Broker. That same year, he collaborated to form a successful system of risk management and case management for residential real estate litigation.
When RML Realty and Jon Douglas Company merged in 1995 to form Jon Douglas Real Estate Service Group, Inc., Foster was appointed Senior Vice President and Corporate Broker for the newly merged entities, supervising 3,500 sales agents that generated 40,000 residential real estate transactions annually.
Foster is an alumnus of the University of California at Los Angeles, has taught college-level real estate principles and practices and has frequently lectured on real estate subjects throughout the state.
He has been active in many community activities over the years, including serving as past president of several youth organizations and educational support groups and past Chairman for the Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation. He is a past board member of the Los Angeles Conservancy’s board of directors.
In addition, he has served as a member of the United States Naval Air Reserve and is a pilot, licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration.
