I’ve worked with Roberta Tengerdy three times now—in 2008 when I bought my first home, then in 2022 when my wife sold her home, and again in 2025 when my wife and I sold our home. I wouldn’t use anyone else. Roberta works incredibly hard for her clients and has a remarkable ability to negotiate. She will fight for you every step of the way.

I worked mostly with Roberta, but also with Carolyn Barker Collins, and together they make a fantastic team. When the Sarasota real estate market was hot, their expertise was invaluable, but when the market cooled down more recently, it became absolutely crucial. They know how to assess the true value of your home and how to advocate for you so that you get the best outcome possible.

What really stands out is their honesty. They don't just tell you what you want to hear—they tell you what you need to hear. For example, they told me my yard needed fixing up before listing. It created a lot of work for me, but they were right, and it made a difference. Even more importantly, they put our interests ahead of their own when we we were selling. That kind of integrity is rare, and it showed me how trustworthy they really are.

Expertise is Everything.

The market in Sarasota is quite slow, compared to several years ago, so it took a little time. Then all of a sudden we had two offers at once. We were able to get a timely closing so we could get our move back to NY State underway. Carolyn had also helped us line up a packing company, moving company and a cleaning service so we could leave the new owner with a nice clean house.

Right from the moment I met Roberta, I knew that we would buy our future house with her as our agent. New Situation, Same Great Result!
After purchasing two homes with the help of Roberta and Carolyn (as well as finding a suitable tenant for a rental property) it was time to see if this dynamic duo could market and sell property with the aame acumen as they had already demonstrated on the acquisition side. I'm very happy, but not surprised, to report that Roberta and Carolyn did not disappoint. In fact, they were nothing short of amazing.

In prevous reviews, I noted the personal approach Roberta and Carolyn took with me to ensure that in the end, I found a home that was the right one for my unique needs. There were some special cirumstances surrounding this particular sale that made it imperative that i complete the sale quickly. At the same time, I didnt want to give the impression that I was willing to accept anything short of the full value of the property. I always felt that Roberta and Carolyn kept my needs front and center. Roberta, as usual, knew when to push me on decisions or work related to the sale, while also knowing when frustration or other emotional factors required some help or encouragement from her, which she gave often and generously.

During this sale, I was also able to observe how Roberta and Carolyn are a perfectly matched team. While Roberta handled me and potential buyers, Carolyn worked diigently behind the scenes managing legal and real estate paperwork, the hectic schedule that accompanies the sales cycle, and any other administrative detail with the potential to delay or upend a sale.

The result? A seller's dream. I got an over asking price offer and had the house under agreement in the first week on the market. The trx completed with almost zero friction. What can I say that I haven't already said? Look there are plenty of real estate agents out there who can competently handle the trsnsactions. A precious few can also positively manage the people, expectations, and experience that go along with it. I wouldnt dream of working with anyone else!

My family has had the pleasure of working with Carolyn Collins for several years now. She helped us find our first home in Sarasota. She was very professional and helpful. We were new to the area and she was so patient in helping us narrow down our search to a specific area. Years later she helped us sell our home and was very professional and helpful once again. Carolyn and her team are very knowledgable when it come to all things realtor related. She provided us with maintenance people, house watch company, cleaning services, and moving company with storage as well. Carolyn and her team made the buying, selling, and moving process effortless. My family has been truly blessed to find Carolyn Collins and will definitely use her in the future.
