Starting at the age of 17, Ryan began working in the Marina District in Downtown San Diego. By the age of 18, Ryan was running his parents’ small family business, It’s a Grind Coffee House, on the corner of First Ave. and G St. For four years he managed his parents’ busy coffee house while attending San Diego State University for mechanical engineering. During the four and a half years he worked at his family’s business, it really gave him a great opportunity to meet the people that make up downtown and really understand what downtown living all is about.
