Steve has been a licensed real estate broker for over fifty years. His real estate career began in Laguna Beach in 1976, working for one of the premier local companies at that time, Lingo Real Estate. By the third month on the job, Steve had earned the honor of “Rookie of the Month” by generating over $1,000,000 in sales volume. Within nine months, the entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, and he and a college buddy started Armbruster, Clurman Brown & Co., specializing in residential and income property sales.
Steve’s interest in developing real estate took a significant step forward in 1979 when he and some partners bought 34 acres of prime real estate overlooking the Elkhorn Golf course in Sun Valley, Idaho. The partnership built 102 condominiums in 3 phases over the next several years. In the following 12 years, Steve had a participating interest in several high-rise condominium projects in San Francisco and Seattle, as well as a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial development projects in South Riverside County.
In 1991, Steve capitalized on his real estate development knowledge by entering the wireless telecommunications industry and, in 1994, co-founded Koll Telecommunications Services, LLC (KTS). Partnering with Koll Real Estate Services and LCC International, KTS specializes in developing wireless telecommunication sites for major wireless companies in North America.
In 2005, Steve formed Steven M. Brown & Associates, refocusing his interest where it all began in 1976, representing Buyers and Sellers of residential and income properties in the south Orange County Coastal marketplace. Steve is a Laguna Board of Realtors member focused on serving his client’s needs in Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Dana Point, and San Clemente.
