There is no doubt about it. Real estate is in Sunny Hammerly’s blood. Having grown up with both parents in the industry, she saw first-hand how it offered them the opportunity to touch people’s lives. As a result, it didn’t take long before she followed in their footsteps.
Having earned her degree in Communications from George Mason University, Hammerly found the corporate world lacking in flexibility, creativity and most importantly, the ability to work directly with people – something she was passionate about doing. With a lifetime of exposure to the business, more than 25 years in the area and 15 years in the industry, she is bullish on helping buyers thru not only the process of finding a home but also helping sellers move on to the next stage of their lives. “It’s such a huge step in someone’s life,” she says. She just want to be that person they can count on for all their real estate needs.
Hammerly’s patient, non-aggressive approach to real estate makes her not only a Realtor people can count on; it also forms bonds and friendships that can last a lifetime. A native of the area, Hammerly understands the current real estate market as well as its history. Unlike other agents who have relocated to Northern Virginia, she knows what neighborhoods have gone through and how it affects home sellers.
When your objective is to sell a home, you have to know how to sell the area as well. Hammerly’s outside-the-box approach to facilitating a transaction is legendary in the Northern Virginia area, where other agents respect her ability to “save” a deal using her unique ability to work through tense situations. Closing the gap in negotiations when things start to go off-kilter depends on making both buyers and sellers feel comfortable with options that offer solutions. Indeed, in these days of multiple offers and carefully worded contract addenda, a fine line defines the types of agents who can adapt to complex challenges.
Working with husband Seth as the “Sunny and Seth” team, Hammerly sees the duo as a well-oiled machine. They are great partners. She is able to breathe a sigh of relief when she thinks about how his strengths, such as property and walk-through inspections, free up her time for things like negotiations and offer preparation. Their clients are quick to see how much value there is in working with the two of us on their side.
