Ted Baker has been active in the real estate industry for the past 23 years. Baker, an Athens native, graduated from the University of Georgia in 1994 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from the Terry College of Business. After graduating, Baker joined the 1996 Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as project manager.
Baker began his real estate career in 1997 with an American Real Estate Investment Company specializing in commercial real estate acquisition, development, and leasing. During this time, American Real Estate acquired, developed, and leased commercial real estate throughout the Southeastern United States.
In 2002, Baker co-founded a recreational timberland investment company, Flatrock, LLC, for the acquisition of timberland and development properties in North Georgia. Flatrock continues to own and operate several real estate projects in Georgia. In 2007, Baker founded the real estate brokerage company, currently known as Luxury Lake Oconee, LLC, to assist clients in acquiring and selling residential, commercial, recreational, and investment properties.
Ted’s wife of 23 years, Riezl - 2013 Lake Oconee Realtor® of the Year, is also a successful and active Realtor® in the lake area specializing in residential sales of lakefront and golf course homes at Lake Oconee. The couple is actively involved in the community and together founded the Lake Oconee Food and Wine Festival in 2010 to support education in the Lake Oconee area. Ted and Riezl chaired the successful 2014 St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Inaugural Gala to benefit the hospital’s $8M Capital Campaign.
Ted co-chaired the 2017 Capital Campaign for the construction of the Lake Oconee Academy high school. Ted currently serves as President of the Lake Country Board of Realtors® and Chair of the Greene County Board of Elections and Voters Registration. He is an active member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.
