Licensed for 40 years, Terrie O’Connor founded her company in 1991 following a successful career in real estate sales, marketing and management. Terrie has worked extensively with transferees as well as marketing residential properties, land sales and new construction. Her dual exposure from both the development and marketing sides of a property has given her a broad perspective on real estate. When asked why she wanted to start her own brokerage, Terrie replied, “I want to work with people I truly enjoy each day.” True to her word, Terrie O’Connor Realtors now boasts over 420 agents and 40 full-time staff among eight office locations including Allendale, Kinnelon, Ramsey (the Main Street sales office and the Corporate Office/Real Estate School), Ridgewood, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, and Wyckoff. The company takes pride in providing hallmark service to both residential and commercial clients throughout New Jersey and southern New York counties.
Terrie loves real estate and has no plans to stop any time soon. Terrie is in the office each day, working with her executive team to strategize the company’s growth and answering calls from her agents. Outside of the office, Terrie serves as a Board Member with the Holy Name Medical Center Foundation, the Council for Hospice at Villa Marie Claire, and Commerce and Industry of New Jersey. Terrie is currently a Trustee for Realtor Cares of Greater Bergen Realtors. She was the first woman to serve as President and Chairperson of the Builders Association of Northern New Jersey and is a former steering committee member of Habitat for Humanity’s “Women Raise the Roof” that built several homes in Paterson.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Terrie has lived all around the world. As both the daughter and wife of US Naval Officers, Terrie has enjoyed life in Malta, Hawaii, and London. Entertaining is a favorite passion of hers, and she enjoys sharing her New Orleans roots by serving oysters, fried chicken, étouffée, red beans and rice, and spicy jambalaya.
Family has always been an important part of her life. A few years ago, she was able to purchase a historic Victorian home “down the shore” in Ocean Grove. The whole brood meets up there for long weekends at the beach filled with good food and fun in the sun. Since much of the gang has inherited musical talents, most evenings end with impromptu jam sessions and singing. Terrie has been taking virtual guitar lessons since the holidays so she can join in the fun.
As both the daughter and then wife of U.S. Naval officers, Terrie O'Connor lived in such places as Malta, Hawaii, Panama, and England as well as a dozen places in the United States from the East Coast to the West. Terrie attended the University of Maryland in London, England. In London, Terrie worked for the Commander-in-Chief U.S. Naval Forces, Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR). Terrie is a long-time resident of Bergen County along with her husband Tom where they raised their four children.
