Tom is a native Texan raised in Richardson, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, where he attended on a full tennis scholarship. After graduation, he followed what he thought would be his profession, coaching tennis in both high school and college. During that time he also earned a Master's degree in secondary education. Although he loved what he was doing, the financial rewards are limited as a tennis coach. He had a two year stint in the oil business with The Western Company of North America in Oklahoma and Mississippi, but missed Dallas greatly so he moved back and began a career in commercial real estate.
After 14 years as a commercial broker and with $68 million in sales and leases behind him, Tom realized he wasn't happy with city life. He quit the business "cold turkey" after informing his clients and moved to sleepy, little Lucas, Texas with his wife Rhonda and their new son Jason in 1998. We are big animal lovers and have had as many as six rescue dogs at a time along with the stray cats that show up.
Not knowing what else to do, he started as a "lone wolf agent" selling homes rather than joining an existing residential real estate firm. That decision made all the difference later in life because he had to learn the residential side literally from the ground up with no-one to teach him. How he survived is a miracle in itself, but he not only survived, he flourished. To this day, the loves the residential side of real estate.
Tom has now been the #1 agent in sales volume for the past 23 consecutive years in his area of the MLS, Fairview, Lucas, and Lovejoy. He has an amazing team of eight experienced, highly trained, and above all honest agents. Our sales are now over $700 million and in the 40 years of selling buildings and homes, Tom nor any of his agents have ever had a complaint filed against them or been sued by a client. That's a pretty remarkable achievement.
