He graduated from Camden High in 1964, graduated from The Citadel in 1968.

He served two years in the United States Army and then moved back to Camden to join Redfearn Motor Co. a family Ford dealership started by his grandfather in 1921.

After 36 years in the family automobile business he joined the real estate business.
