About William

Atlanta natives, Bill and Pam Carmichael moved to the area in 2004 from Fairfax, Virginia. Avid travelers, they spent a full year driving throughout the United States in an RV focusing on visits to national parks. When choosing a permanent home following his retirement as an executive with a national remodeling trade association in the D. C. area, climate played a key role.
“It was 30° in Northern Virginia and 70° in Myrtle Beach. We thought that was the area where we should start looking.” It wasn’t long before the couple discovered Winding River Plantation. “We bought property early on and later built our home.”
Becoming a Real Estate professional seemed a natural next step. Bill had held management positions in the “shelter” industry including furniture manufacturing and window and door manufacturing prior to moving to the trade association. That background gave him an affinity for the housing market.
The move to Winding River led Bill and Pam to work together as the Carmichael Team. “We don’t ‘sell’ anything. We do our best to listen to what the client wants and help them find it. We are fortunate in having most of our listings come to us by referral from other satisfied sellers.”
Joining RE/MAX Southern Coast is the next chapter in the team’s real estate career. “The RE/MAX concept is the best for me as an agent and the idea of a fresh start with a new enterprise was very appealing.”
The couple has two children and four grandchildren.
