I moved to Galveston Island in 2004 to attend Texas A&M at Galveston. In no time at all, I fell in love with island life! Nowadays, I hardly ever leave and go to the mainland! I have worked in Hospitality at The San Luis Resort, Moody Gardens, Hilton Galveston Island Resort and Holiday Inn Resort on the Beach For several years, I worked in property and casualty insurance and have extensive knowledge of the unique insurance market for Galveston Island and Texas's coastal areas. In 2015, I went for a complete career change and began in real estate. After several months of hands on learning at Real Living The Hatmaker Group working as principal, Michelle Hatmaker's assistant and being afforded the opportunity to see a vast array of transactions, from undeveloped lots to multimillion dollar beach mansions on stilts, to commercial, property management and vacation rental management, a fire ignited in me and I had my TREC Real Estate Sales License in hand September 2015.
One day, my broker commented, "I've always wanted a rental division." The idea started me off with a mission and a few days after my license was issued, I reported to Michelle, "We now have a rental division!" Primarily focused on assisting the thousands for students, medical and ancillary staff in Galveston at Texas A&M, UTMB and Galveston College. I have real knack for finding my clients the best, if not the perfect. rental or property to lease or purchase! The rental division has grown exponentially, and, with the help assistants Pam and Casey, is positioned to have a record breaking year, again!
In real estate sales, I primarily represent buyers purchasing homes and condominiums. Currently, the fastest growing client list is investors purchasing single and multifamily properties for long term, short term and vacation rentals. Many of these investments are secondary homes working as hybrids of income producing short term vacation rentals and private family and friend beach getaways.
Galveston’s not getting any bigger and the real estate landscape varies from block to block! Housing options on the island include multimillion dollar Gulf front mansions, beach houses “blinged out” with every amenity possible to the most basic, hi-rise luxury condominiums like “country clubs in the air”, Hi-rise and mid-rise condominiums along the Gulf, 2-3 story condominiums and townhouses all over the island, single family homes and condominiums on lakes, Galveston bay and canals, many with access to Galveston Bay by boat, historic one-bedroom shotguns, historic mansions and estates, single family Victorian homes, converted carriage houses, residential lofts in converted commercial buildings manicured suburban neighborhood homes and new homes all over the island with construction of more going at an amazing pace!
