Yoshiya Hirata

Yoshiya Joshua Hirata, raised in Japan, moved to the United States in 1974 shortly after high school to continue his studies. He settled in Seattle, Washington area studying marketing and photography. Joshua also started to work with a Japanese trading company to develop an import/export business. Moving to Maui in 1988 he quickly became established in the real estate business and in the translation business for many Maui real estate firms. His experience has encompassed assisting in developing condominium projects and a substantial subdivision. Joshua’s translation business continues as Maui’s main translator service for the Maui real estate and advertising sectors and includes duties as a court appointed interpreter. Joshua’s bi-lingual abilities and established knowledge of the Hawaii real estate markets have enhanced Kokua Realty’s abilities to perceive and service the needs of its many Japanese clients.
