Suburban living on the city’s edge
Boulevard Heights sits at the edge of city limits in southern St. Louis, but it's still close to the action. The suburban neighborhood boasts a collection of historic brick homes, favorite local eateries, and the third largest park in St. Louis, all within walking distance for most residences. Boulevard Heights has a strong sense of community reflected in the incredibly active neighborhood association. And the convenient location means commuters can access the major sporting events and vibrant downtown areas just 10 miles away.
Historic brick homes
Boulevard Height’s housing dates back to the early 1900s and presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to enter the St. Louis area. “The neighborhood has a lot of nice starter homes and second homes,” says John Loeffler, real estate agent at Hemrick Realty. “There are many brick builds with three bedrooms and finished basements.” Brick ranchers are the predominant architectural style, but Tudor Revivals can also be found throughout the neighborhood's sidewalk-lined streets. Smaller, two-bedroom residences begin selling for $150,000, while larger vinyl split levels can top $300,000.

Third largest park in the city
Carondelet Park is the neighborhood's centerpiece and offers endless outdoor and indoor recreation. The park was established in 1876 and is home to the Lyle Mansion, an eight-room frame house that became a city landmark in 1971. Residents will find miles of walking paths, tennis courts, sports fields, and a public recreation center complete with a pool. And fishermen will feel right at home as Boathouse Lake is stocked with numerous types of sport fish. Residents can also head to the River Des Peres Greenway for a relaxing stroll along the winding waterway.
