Located on the Mississippi River's East Bank, Saint Paul, MN is recognized as the state's second most populated city and when associated with Minneapolis is famously titled "Twin-Cities," which makes up the 16th largest metropolitan area in the country. The area offers versatile selection of neighborhoods with a number of both single-family homes and high-rise complexes.

Saint Paul is divided into seventeen Planning Districts that were established in 1979. While the original neighborhoods have undergone some changes in the last several decades, historically recognized locations have been recognized and revitalized. The historical West End neighborhood has been largely recognized for its immigrant influence for the last two centuries. The Como Park area offers a number of attractions including a recognized zoo, the Conservatory and an amusement park. The University of Minnesota's St. Paul's Campus is located in Saint Anthony Park and gives the area a college quality. Highland Park possesses a number of older historical homes and possesses the largest number of synagogues in the city, and nearby Summit Avenue exudes a similar air. These regions along with a number of other unique neighborhoods provide a number of housing options in Saint Paul.

A number of recognized corporations have operations in the city including Gander Mountain, Securian Financial Group LLC and St. Jude Medical. Ecolab, another locally run business, was named the Eighth Best Place to work in the "Twin Cities" by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Additionally, 3M Company is located in nearby Maplewood in is one of the top employers in the state. Ford Motor Company had a presence in the area, but left in 2011, and the area is being prepared for future redevelopment. While these businesses along with a number of local enterprises contribute greatly to the Saint Paul Economy, a number of residents choose to find employment in Minneapolis and make the commute across the river to work.
