Located on the north side of San Angelo, Riverside is bounded by the highly trafficked U.S. Route 87 and the northern dam of the North Concho River. Although the neighborhood sits next to what appears to be a large lake, the area’s climate and landscape aren’t conducive to the presence of abundant water. “We’re not entirely flat, as we’re part of the southern edge of the rolling plains,” says Carl White, San Angelo’s Parks and Recreation Director. “But we could use a dump of water.
