New construction homes are lined along the residential streets of Ladera, a planned community with gated access in Medina Valley. The neighborhood is a quick drive from public schools and commercial shopping areas. “Ladera is very much an up-and-coming neighborhood. There’s a great amenities center and an elementary school nearby, so families flock to the area,” says Ryan Nichols, a Realtor with Keller Williams City View who grew up and currently lives in the San Antonio area. “It’s also close to the Lackland military base, so a lot of retirees and active-duty personnel will come here.” Ladera is comprised of three distinct neighborhoods: North Ridge, High Point and Laurel Hollow. “A majority of homes are new construction, or have been built in the past three years,” Nichols says.
