North Riverside is a hilly Sandy Springs community that borders the Chattahoochee River, offering quiet suburban living close to the city’s bustling downtown area. “A lot of them are beautiful homes, with beautiful vistas of the river,” says Ronda Smith, president of the Sandy Springs Council of Neighborhoods. The area is just down the road from a 24-acre nature preserve and less than 3 miles from the City Springs downtown entertainment district. The community has nearly 200 homes across two subdivisions. “They really are a mixed bag,” Smith says. “There are some mid-century moderns, some more Craftsman styles.” Most homes date back to the 1960s and 1970s, though a few have been torn down and rebuilt. Lots are large, many around a full acre or more, and homes are set back from the street.
