Why Live in Indian Beach-Sapphire Shores

Sometimes called the Museum District, Indian Beach-Sapphire Shores is one of Sarasota’s more walkable areas, with sidewalks shaded by oaks, banyans and palm trees. “It’s incredibly beautiful,” says Margot Vigar, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty who vlogs about Sarasota neighborhoods on her YouTube channel. "You can walk along the bay or sit and read, journal or think.” It contains cultural hotspots like The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Asolo Repertory Theatre and New College. Homes built in the mid-1920s are influenced by Italian, Mediterranean and Moroccan architecture. However, bungalows from the 1950s and 60s are also typical in the neighborhood. “It has a lot of historic charm,” Vigar Says. “Some properties have been taken down, but overall, the neighborhood has done a good job of preserving the historic homes.” On average, lots are just under a quarter of an acre, with palm trees and bushes adorning the front lawns. Most properties have driveways, but
