Since 1887, St. Mary School in Downtown Akron has provided students with an excellent, faith-based private school option that focuses on academics and their values. Serving students in grades kindergarten through eighth, St. Mary School maintains small class sizes, employs high-quality teaching staff and offers students dozens of programs and extracurriculars. Despite being a private school, St. Mary accepts all students regardless of financial status. The school is proud to offer access to the Ohio Educational Choice Scholarship Program as well as tuition assistance from the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Free transportation and complimentary breakfast and lunch are available at St. Mary. Students at St. Mary come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and the school aims to foster mutual respect and understanding through this. Learners participate in a variety of activities, including service projects, art classes, CYO basketball program, Washington D.C. field trip, and extended day tutoring.
