St. Sebastian Elementary School, a private school located just south of Elm Hill Park in West Akron, is home to just over 320 students in grades pre-K through 8.
A proud recipient of the Governor Thomas Edison Award for STEM Education — two years in a row — St. Sebastian is known for its excellence in STEM education. Its award-winning faculty participates in a variety of professional development opportunities that keep them on the cutting edge regarding the latest in learning approaches and technology.
The school incorporates a state-of-the-art science lab, newly remodeled technology learning lab and daily use of iPads, Chromebooks and laptops.
Innovative programs include foreign Language, an early learning center preschool, art, music and STEM classroom experiences in all grades.
Unique and engaging environments like the outdoor classroom and garden provide students and teachers with a one-of-a-kind learning space where students can learn gardening/farming, environmental science and entrepreneurship.
The St. Sebastian Parish School Home and School Association (HASA) provides a powerful connection with parents and the school by offering various ways to get involved including organizing social and fundraising programs.
The facility provides a separate junior high wing for 7th and 8th graders and tuition assistance is available through the newly launched angel scholarship fund.

School is racist. Principal doesn’t care regarding poor treatment of POC. They pick and choose when to step in regarding bullying. If you are black, I would not send my children here. Save your money and send them to a more diverse school.

Student attrition rate is growing. Principal has poor communication skills. Action plans are never followed through. There is bias towards minorities. Bullying is encouraged, not acknowledged or investigated.
