I would like to see less technology used to teach and complete assignments (ie - chromebooks and programs used on them). I would like to see more direct teaching in front of the class, note taking for better knowledge retention, and more written work/textbook usage.

The best part of my experience with Thompson middle school was going to the zoo because we went on a field trip. The worst was that I was not taking my work seriously the first semester because of sleeping issues . I'm happy to change it into improvement by sleeping early rising my grades up and focusing more on my tasks .

I feel micromanaged. The amount of meetings we are required to attend interferes with my very limited planning time, and I don't feel that it is helping me improve as a teacher. I feel like my professional judgment is not fully respected and I do not feel empowered to make decisions based on my students' needs. Teachers and staff have been spoken to in a very condescending manner, and it feels like some (not all) administrators are trying to "catch" us making mistakes, rather than asking what supports we need and actually considering our requests and suggestions.

It’s a shame that the good teachers and the assistant principals have to deal with a principal that is clearly in over her head.

Most of the experience has been great, however my child does have one teacher that is disrespectful to students not in a clique. Admin staff and counseling have outstanding.
