After my four years at Dougherty High I've learned to take the good with the bad. I learned to roll with the punches no matter what because life isn't going to be fair. I had my fair share of bad teachers and had some stellar teachers who went above and beyond to help students. Knowing that they try to inspire hope in these students make me feel hopeful in my own future. I would like to see better school activities to make student involvement more meaningful and enjoyable. I would also like to note that we need more funding to boost the STEM programs we have there to further student and faculty development. Overall my experience there was mainly dictated by my friends and the staff because they were able to use what we had to make our experience great.

The school could definitely be better , it does not recognize those who excel in their studies . Also , students like me that like a challenge have to search for other resources to challenge myself . I teach myself certain things in a different way because I like challenges and learning differently . The food is not very appetizing so I just study during lunch or something . But the principal tries to make it more fun so students will look forward to going to school .

The best part about Dougherty comprehensive high school is that the teachers and staff genuinely care about students success. They helps us so much like when we get to senior or freshman they tell us about life and college and the teachers helps us see what we want to become in the future. Dougherty comprehensive high have the best chrous, drama, band and many more activities. I love chrous cause I love to sing my heart out whatever song we sing we learn it so quick and sometimes we have fun we try to sing r&b music. We have a mix of everyone at our school and we get to learn everyone culture or their background. The worst that I hate is that sometimes there don't be enough tissue or none at all. I like that are school don't do bullying yes they do get into fight but I don't see no one bullying anyone. I would to see that the principle have a student meeting with grades levels about things that we don't like or the principle can leave suggestion box for students to vote their concerns.
