The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

The best parts of Anacortes High School are the sports and activities. I would like there to be better school culture and more things to do other than sports.

Anacortes High School is an amazing institution. I made so many lasting friendships during my few years there and cannot speak more highly of the staff. AHS has some truly standout teachers and amazing programs. The AP level classes offered at the school are many and are taught extremely well. I felt very prepared entering college because of the strong educational foundation I gained at Anacortes High School.

I'm not sure this applies only to my school, but there's a lot of time that's wasted. Sometimes lessons aren't useful and when you're done there's little to do besides be on your phone; which according to school policy is strictly prohibited. Other than those instances, most of the teachers are incredible at keeping lessons useful and engaging.
Very poor. This school spends almost $17,000 per student, has high paid teachers which don't translate into better teachers. The only thing important is money. Your kids are better off in Mount Vernon or Oak Harbor or private. Beware!!
I really enjoy it here. The classes aren’t always the most exciting, but the teachers have really great personalities and usually try to make the learning activities fun. Most of the teachers are not burnt out on their jobs, which is also good.
Such a disappointment, I moved here thinking oh has great schools and what a fool to believe this, this school is way waaayy lay back, my kids usually where in 4 AP wich they were having great results with a lot of hard work here they don't even have many of the AP and they don't even motivated them...
