Opened in 1914, John S. Armstrong Elementary School was the first school built in Highland Park. Nowadays, staff and students can see the green and yellow school colors proudly displayed throughout the campus. The school boasts a cafeteria, bountiful library and spacious auditorium in addition to Alice’s Garden, the outdoor learning space that was added to the school grounds in 2014.
The parents of students who attend Armstrong Elementary school can volunteer and support the school through the active PTA or dad’s club. The PTA supports the school and holds various events for students and parents throughout the year. If you’re an Armstrong Eagle, you won’t want to miss the annual Founders Day Picnic or the Armstrong Eagle Ranch Auction.
John S. Armstrong Elementary School is located off Cornell Avenue in Dallas. The school serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade and provides special education services to students who qualify. There’s also a Talented and Gifted Program for qualified students.
