I have lived in Beardstown all my life. My overall experience has been okay. My school has some resources for higher education but I think they could do much more. Some of my best memories with my community are when I really felt involved in school. Some of my worst memories were getting picked on in middle school. If I'd like to see one thing change in my small town, I would hope for more tolerance towards others.

What I like about Beardstown High School is that even in rough times, or when there are issues facing our environment, the teachers and students always come together and try to solve the problem.I really like that even when Beardstown is a small town, there are a lot of cultures, and most of the time, everyone seems to share and enjoy each other's culture. One thing that I don't like about the school is that High school and Middle school students have to share the building, which means that there's always issues happening between these two.

I love the diversity between race and backgrounds. I would, however, like to see more teachers. We always have an issue of not being able to find teachers to hire. This leads to there being teachers that might not be the best for the job. There are some teachers, though, that are amazing. They are the best, understanding, down to earth teachers that I've ever had.

I went to school here and graduated a few years ago. I completely disagree with the other post as this was a fine school. I had great relationships with some teachers and still speak with them on occasion. Is it a great school? No, but better than most small town schools left in the area.

Parent involvement is not something the school encourages, they actually discourage it. The environment is unfriendly and good relationships are not built between students/administration/parents. Discipline is done to make things easy for the administration and not to teach any valuable lessons to t...
