Saint Rose Academy is located in Birmingham’s popular Highland Park neighborhood. This private Catholic elementary school was founded in 1956 and is owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation, which was established in 1860 in Nashville.
The sisters lovingly and joyfully lead classes for students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. The school is comprised of four buildings, two playgrounds and an outdoor classroom. Their motto is “Veritas et Caritas,” which is Latin for “truth and love.”
Parents and alumni speak very highly of this Highland Park school. Students can participate in choir and athletics, including basketball, football, cross-country, volleyball, cheerleading, golf, soccer and softball. They can also choose to participate in extracurricular activities ranging from drama club to science club.
The school hosts a variety of activities and events throughout the year for students, parents and members of the Highland Park community. In the past, the school has hosted silent auctions, galas, parent appreciation days, talent shows and more.

We love Saint Rose. The accelerated learning has been great for my 3 kids who have/are attending. Love the close family environment where you know everyone! Ensuring our values are taught and focused on everyday is so important to us and Saint Rose, its teachers and staff makes sure that happens!!
