Bassick High School is a public school serving nearly 1,000 students annually from ninth through 12th grade since its establishment in 1929. The school is committed to creating graduates that are critical thinkers, collaborators, communicators and contributors to their community and society at large.
Bassick seeks to prepare students for higher education by providing opportunities for students to participate in college-level courses while still under the careful guidance of the faculty and staff. While the participation in advanced placement classes remains just below 20%, the high school continues to foster its connection with local colleges and universities to provide courses that ease the transition into higher education.
Bassick High provides vocational studies and learning programs tailored to specific interest areas for those desiring a different learning style. Currently located on Fairfield Ave in the West End of Bridgeport, the school is engaged in plans to move the high school to the campus of Bridgeport University, solidifying the school’s commitment to providing post-secondary educational preparation for its students and investing in the building structures and technology that can make this possible.

Bassick high school is a decent place, various teachers and counslers tried their best to connect with students, and to lead them to a good path. On the other hand, security has been an issue, and there was a lot of fights. The school was also a bit worn down. Overall, as long as you stay out of trouble its not a horrible place.

My four years in Bassick was nothing but excellent. it thought me to be the best in can be and to go after my goals in life. The people who made this experience as excellent as possible was the teacher, how they get down with the class and how to approach the class work. Bassick made it possible for me to get college credits. witch was in impressive attempt into tackling the college experience with call work. One thing I would like to change about bassick would be the school lunch for four years I went eating the same thing Monday to Friday. But only to an extent they alway had fresh lunch. Nothing compare to bassick's diversity . With me coming from Haiti and the language barrier i thought it would've been very difficult to get to know people but when I got there it changed my mind. Bassick high school it's great school, I love how it is very diverse among teachers. The kids are not only book smart but street smart, if only the school got more funding they will be more advanced.

aside from the fights "barely any", its a pretty good school. good teachers (most atleast) always trying their best to help their students. The students may not be the best, but its probably best to just avoid people. you will be fine as long as you just mind your own business!

In my opinion this is probably the worst high school in Bridgeport. The curriculum is poor and a good portion of students disregard their own education often disrupting others.
