Located in a suburban setting characterized by brick ramblers and split-level homes, White Oaks Elementary (White Oaks) stands among the massive white oak trees that inspired the school’s name.
Part of the Lake Braddock pyramid of Fairfax County Public Schools, White Oaks enrolls approximately 700 students in its pre-K and K-6 programs. Founded on a belief that students thrive in a child-centered environment, White Oaks recognizes student strengths and learning styles, encourages individualized goal-setting, and actively engages each child in the academic process.
With a student-teacher ratio of 15-to-1, the school supports advanced learners and those with special needs. Students also have the option to participate in a home-school program.
Open since 1980, White Oaks completed a massive renovation in 2019, adding 20,000 square feet of interior space, as well as new playing fields and a basketball court.
Today, White Oaks’ Eagles participate in a range of activities including the father-student Watch D.O.G.S. program, chess, fitness club, Odyssey of the Mind, Junior Great Books, broadcasting, band, strings and chorus.
Throughout the year, whether enjoying the school’s Jump Rope for Heart marathon, multicultural night, pirate day, or sixth-grade promotion ceremony; students, faculty, parents, and neighbors nurture an enriching environment at White Oaks that helps bolster each child’s unique potential.

Daughter attends there. Never had a problem with any type of learning issues. Teachers and staff are friendly and polite, with weekly updates from the teachers. PTA is very involved in the "going on's". Learning environment is inviting. School is also an AAP school for which I have no negative rules...

My experience at this school was with the AAP program. This school used to be great, but since the administration change 7-8 years ago, almost all of the excellent AAP teachers left. It is definitely not worth sending your kids to this school anymore. The principal does not support AAP.
