Anchored next to Provinces Park, Shumway Leadership Academy is a public elementary school serving more than 450 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade as part of the Chandler Unified School District.
In addition to a core curriculum, the faculty strive to help students acquire life skills and embrace collaboration. Through the academy’s Leader in Me program, students can build confidence, focus on goals, learn to listen to others and develop the leadership skills necessary to thrive as productive adults.
To better prepare students for the 21st century, Shumway Leadership Academy integrates a dedicated tech class and STEM lab where students can focus on hands-on learning. Through the district’s enrichment program, students can broaden their interests in a range of extracurricular activities including LEGO engineering, tennis, chess, dance, piano, junior golf, mad science, tutoring, robotics, yoga and Young Rembrandts.
Students can also compete in basketball, cheer, flag football, soccer and volleyball through the Chandler Sports League. To keep students engaged, the academy hosts fun runs, monthly reading challenges, spirit days and Shine assemblies throughout the school year.

We have been part of the Shumway community for 5 years now and I can’t imagine sending my children anywhere else. Any issues I have had have been dealt with in professional and timely manners. My children feel safe at school and enjoy going. I am pleased with what they are learning both academically...
