I've been here since 5th grade and I came back in high school to a VERY toxic environment, I go home every day and tell my mother the BS I deal with between the teachers AND students. Specifically the English teachers. They're disrespectful towards my personal life and they feed on the drama. They baby some kids while being RUDELY disrespectful to others. They target the colored and leave out mostly the whites to do what they want. There are stink bugs EVERYWHERE. They took high school lunch and bathroom privileges because of a couple of students. We aren't allowed to go ANYWHERE without being questioned and followed. We're not even allowed to go outside. The teachers DON'T teach, most of them are lazy, and they don't care about anything or anyone but themselves. I'm partially deaf because of the constant screaming at not one, not two, not three, but ALL the kids. I'm highly DISGUSTED, at the amount of disrespect I receive as a STUDENT here. I don't recommend bringing your child here.

Overall CIS is a good school And diverse, but as far as college preparedness and positioning students so that the will get into colleges and have what's needed to get scholarships is lacking. They should have a program in place. Being a small school there should be more opportunities and more activities but there weren't which put students in position to go outside the school for what they need.

I feel that this school is not receiving the recognition it truly deserves. I wholeheartedly believe that the staff and teachers put forth their best efforts. The school functions as a tight-knit community. As a single parent, my personal life presents its challenges. When I reached out to Carolina...
