The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

De Soto is a very small school, totaling an average of about 35 students per grade. There is not much diversity, the food is awful most days, and the sports do not have very good coaching, aside from very few exceptions. Although it does offer many AP classes, a very good guidance counselor, and is an overall pretty safe school. The teachers are mostly mediocre, but there are a select few that are very good.

Two of my children attend the middle and high school. It is great. New addition being built includes Library, Gym, Locker Rooms and more. Many new young teachers along with the experience is a good mix.
