The best part of Donna High School is that they offer dual enrollment and a chance to graduate with your associates. The school is actively trying to get more dual enrollment teachers to have more classes available. The school is not very diverse with a majority of Hispanic students. Most of the teachers here are good at teaching and seem to care about the students. The bad things about the school are different the school needs to fix some things with the building. Some ceiling tiles in the cafeteria have mold on them. The cafeteria lunch line area is too small for the number of students in lunch. The school is short-staffed and a lot of teachers left last year. For me I would at least like to see a new cafeteria like they promised us and more dual enrollment classes available on campus. The school mascot is also offensive and I would like to see a more appropriate mascot that I would not feel embarrassed or ashamed to represent my school.

I personally didn't get to experience all 4 years of high school due to covid. However I can say that I did enjoy going. They made sure to make it as enjoyable to go to school and learn. They always made sure to make every student feel involved. Especially the seniors who are getting ready for graduation and college. They made sure that we had all the resources we needed from our counselors helping us to them sending us information on scholarships. They also always made sure to inform us of important due dates of when we had to turn in everything that was needed for graduation. Something I would change would probably be the focus on sports. Yes they are enjoyable but I'm sure they can focus on making other clubs. Or maybe providing more ways to earn certifications for the students that wish to go straight into the workforce.

Donna High School is actually a great school. The work is incredibly rigorous and the teachers are amazing in every way. Everyone at DHS is committed to helping the student learn and ultimately graduate and attend a university or college. Donna High is a great school regardless of the bad media and...
