Our oldest granddaughter soared her first year in a Dothan City school which was fifth grade at Hidden Lake Elementary. She is now at Beverlye Magnet in seventh grade where she has tested in the high 90's percentiles.

Even though we qualify for free lunch we send lunch with our girls. They throw their school lunches away and come home starving. We send complete lunches with fresh fruit and veggies. We send no junk food or snacks with them. Our youngest granddaughter has finally begun to gain some of the weight she needs to gain.

My first grader has been thriving at this school. They have a wide range of extracurricular subjects such as choir and Spanish. The teachers, faculty, and SRO are all very kind and seem to love my child.

The office employees are rude and unprofessional.

This school needs to get a handle on how they address bullying. My son was backed into a corner by another student while a teacher watched to see if they "could work it out on their own". After my son repeatedly asked the kid to stop and move and he didn't my son pushed him so he could get away from...

Let me first say that my child's teacher is exceptional, the food provided for lunch, its exceptional-I enjoy eating there on my lunch break.
