I love that all of the teachers at Elk Rapids are willing to sit down and help you when you are struggling, they also care that you succeed and you do your best.

Defiantly one of the top academic schools in Michigan, they seem to care mostly about SAT scores than anything else. Teachers are great, and the student to teacher ratio is pretty good.

I had an enjoyable experience with opportunities to challenge myself academically and physically. Between challenging English and science classes, and soccer to keep me in shape and improve my character.

The amount of ableism I received at this school is unparalleled. Before I was formally diagnosed with ADHD and autism, I was constantly bullied and disciplined by students and teachers alike for the way my brain functioned. My daughter has been bullied to the point where she refuses to go to the high school. The staff's solution is to change her schedule to make she has no classes with the bullies instead of holding them accountable for their actions. They are still going to her bully between classes and at lunch etc....

This was once a desirable school district. It has taken a slide since the previous Superintendent retired.

We moved to the area about 5 years ago from downstate. I can only tell you that I am thrilled with Elk Rapids Schools. The education my children receive is best I have experienced at all levels from elementary school to high school. The teachers and principals are great. I researched schools before...
